Streaming Sunlight

Streaming Sunlight

Today was plein air in the park.  While we still have quite a bit of smoke in the area, I ventured out with my good buddy Tina and met up with the Plein Air Painters of Idaho.  Tina and I recently joined this fun loving group of fellow artists and I'm so glad we did!  We had a blast painting at the Katherine Albertson Park.  Tina even sold her painting on the spot.  How exciting is that?

There were plenty of good spots from which to chose.  The early morning light was streaming through the trees casting amazing shadows and turning the grass fluorescent green.  I couldn't resist painting this view.

Wow...where has the summer gone?  The past few weeks have been filled with travel...and a few attempts at plein air painting (aka painting outside).

I continue my personal struggle with producing the quality of landscape paintings I hope to one day achieve.  The battle continued while traveling 4500 miles to the Midwest to pick up our RV, see family in Iowa and Wisconsin, and explore the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

We are almost home and had a blast...even though the paintings were few and far between, I share them herein. I'm thankful for the safe journey and am looking forward to another 30in30 Challenge starting Sept. 1st.   (Yikes!)
