Benny

Benny
10x8, soft pastel
A first try at our mini-goldendoodle Benny.  You can see his personality in his eyes...spunky and full of life.  He's now 8 months old and 34 lbs.  This isn't necessarily the best version of him...so I'm sure I'll try again sometime in the future...he only sat still for 2-3 minutes at a time so it's a fairly loose painting as a result.

Sophie The Goldendoodle

Sophie The Goldendoodle
9x9, soft pastel
Sophie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge recently...so this is a piece for her "mom" to help ease the huge loss she's surely feeling. All I really know about Sophie is that she was constantly getting into the trees and shrubs in the yard (something our little Benny is very talented at doing too).  This is a favorite image of her mom's because she had that look that all little "kids" have when they know they may be in trouble...but they just couldn't help themselves.  A beautiful sweet Goldendoodle! Of course this means I will need to paint Bennington...maybe some day soon.

Bedtime Buddies - Oil

Bedtime Buddies - Oil
6x6, oil on board

Painting 14 of 30 - Revisiting a painting I did in October of Macy...a Facebook friend's pup who is full of Westie attitude!  Having loved it in pastel...I decided to try it in oil.  This oil painting thing is definitely like trying to write with your non-dominate hand.  But again, I practice and practice....and practice.  I know it's not completely hopeless because I still bound out of bed each morning (often 4-5 am) excited to try again!

Lolo

Lolo
6x6, soft pastel

Day...hummm, what day is this anyway, painting #8?  30in30 Challenges can turn into 30 days all blurred together!  Add to that, our winter had been epic for Idaho.  We've had snow on the ground for probably a month already.  Most winters we have a couple snowfalls, nothing very big, which quickly melt away after a few days.  This winter we've had a large amount of snow (18 inches or so in the past couple days) which is set to melt next week when normal temps return.  It causes one to stay inside quite a bit...which is a good thing if you're doing a 30in30 Challenge...but bad for the lack of exercise.

This is my "grand-dog" Lolo.  Below is an oil painting of her too...but it's SO bad, I'm not posting it for sale unless I get it fixed and then I'll repost it.   Ha!  Oils continue to challenge me.  I must persevere!

Bedtime Buddies

Bedtime Buddies
6x6, soft pastel

This little one is named Macy and she's seen here snuggling in with her little bedtime buddy.  Whenever I get to missing my Westie boys too much, I just have to paint a Westie!
